This page is unfortunately ambiguous, still, with Ptolemy II Philadelphus. Ptolemy II was called in antiquity simply Ptolemy Philadelphus; this is still sometimes used, and was quite common in the nineteenth century.

Half the links to this article are intended for the King of Egypt, and their number will grow; the links to the subject of this article, who is last attested at the age of six, are limited, and can be fixed easily. I therefore propose to move this page to Ptolemy Philadelphus (Cleopatra), and make this a redirect to Ptolemy II Philadelphus.

If this is uncontroversial, I will Wikipedia:be bold. If anyone has a preference on the dab phrase, I will probably accept it. I don't see any need to take this to WP:RM unless the move is genuinely controversial. Septentrionalis 19:21, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

That might be a bit awkward since there are so many Cleopatra's, too. Sure Ptolemey II Philadelphus is the son of a Bernice instead of a Cleopatra, but it still seems a rather strange title to me. An alternative might be to make this a disambiguation page between the two, but I'd be open to moving Ptolemey II Philadelphus here so long as there's still a clear title for this Ptolemey's article. — Laura Scudder | Talk 20:06, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
But Cleopatra is the overwhelmingly primary sense of Cleopatra in English. (I am proposing to leave Ptolemy II Philadelphus where he is, with a disambiguation header to this article; Ptolemy Philadelphus should be a redirect to him, as soon as this article is moved.)
