[edit] License tagging for Image:Bdc.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Bdc.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:04, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi and welcome
Hi Ptfreak, and welcome to Wikipedia. I just looked at your articles about Blue Diamond Clan and Lincoln's Assassination. You're a good writer and I think you can be an excellent Wikipedia contributor. However, both these articles have suitability problems. The Blue Diamond Clan is likely to be considered not yet well-known enough for inclusion in Wikipedia; see WP:NN for some guidelines; as such, the article is likely to be removed. I feel sad telling you that, because it's obvious that you worked hard on the article. Abraham Lincoln is of course very notable, but most of the info in your article is already in Lincoln's biography article (Abraham Lincoln) or in the article about John Wilkes Booth. The best thing to do in these situations is rather than writing a new article, check whether any interesting facts are missing from the existing articles, and add anything that's missing (make sure, of course, to connect all the facts to previously published sources--Wikipedia wasn't always careful about this but we're trying to be more so now). See WP:V for some info about how to do this.
If your first articles get deleted, try not to feel too bad; the practices and policies here take some getting used to. We have a bunch of prewritten form letters ("templates") that we use to welcome new contributors but I'm taking the time to write personally instead of using a form letter, because of the effort you've obviously spent on your articles (a more typical new user's first contributions are to fix spelling mistakes or things like that). I'll attach the form letter afterwards since it has some other good links that you should refer to.
Best wishes and I hope you'll stay around. —Phr (talk • contribs)
[edit] And here's the form letter

[edit] Article notability problem
A tag has been placed on Beavercreek High School Band, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Beavercreek High School Band is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Beavercreek High School Band. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. Stifle (talk) 11:09, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unblock request
{{unblock|IP address blocked, done by another person on network}}
IP Address Blocked: 198.234.208.176
This IP address is for my school's network. Somebody at my school vandalized articles and the entire school is now blocked from editing. Is it possible to have my username allow me to bypass the block on the IP? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ptfreak (talk • contribs).
- Unblocked. At some point it should become possible to block IPs without blocking the accounts using them - see WP:BPP. --Sam Blanning(talk) 14:13, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
