Pruning shears

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shears are doubled-bladed cutting implements with straight blades of between 200mm and 300mm. They were formerly made in smaller sizes, which have been superseded by secateurs. For pruning shears, the blades are in line with the handles. They should be kept oiled. For pruning large-leaved shrubs (e.g. laurel) a more satisfactory result can be achieved with a single sharp knife blade.
