PRSI

PRSI, Public Relations Society of India, PRSIis one of the oldest body of public relations practitioners in India set up in 1958. The Society is 34 chapters all across the country with over 4500 members. PRSI is affiliated to the International Public Relations Association IPRA

The objective of PRSI is to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a strategic management function.

PRSI functioned as an informal body till 1966 when it was registered under the Indian Societies Act XXVI of 1961, with headquarters in Mumbai. The father-figure of professional PR practitioners in India, Kali H. Mody, was the founder President of PRSI from 1966 to 1969.

PRSI adopted the International Code of Ethics, also known as the Code of Athens, on 21st April 1968 at the first All India Public Relations Conference at New Delhi. The Code of Athens have become the guiding principles of ethical practices in public relations profession.
