Wikipedia:Protected Userpage

This proposal was rejected by the community. It has not gained consensus and seems unlikely to do so. Per Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines: "A rejected page is any proposal for which consensus support is not present, regardless of whether there's active discussion or not."

This guideline will protect Userpages from anon editing, and anyone but the user it represents or sysop from editing a userpage.


[edit] Reasons

  • This will help stop vandalism and intrusive edits to the page.
  • A very common form of vandalism is Userpage vandalism. This will most likely stop it.
  • Most users do not like others editing their userpage.

[edit] Admin Access/Other

  • If the user edits somebody elses Userpage, they may be blocked.
  • Sysops will be given acess
  • Any other users seeing this should contact the user so they can perform the edits themselves.
  • Sub-pages will also be protected.
