[edit] License tagging for Image:Copy of P1010001.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Copy of P1010001.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:05, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RFC discussion of your username (Project for Pride in Living)

Hello, Project for Pride in Living, and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! Wikipedia has a policy on what usernames editors can use. Unfortunately, concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with that policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it here. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name here following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. -- ShadowHalo 19:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC) ShadowHalo 19:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:Project for Pride in Living

A tag has been placed on User:Project for Pride in Living, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AecisBrievenbus 19:43, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, based on what I've seen, I think you may be misunderstanding what Wikipedia is. Group accounts are not allowed, and the userpage that you had would only be appropriate as an article. Before creating an article about the project, please make sure to read Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. ShadowHalo 20:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
That really depends. Have there been multiple occasions of coverage by third-party (as in, unaffiliated with Project for Pride in Living) reliable sources? ShadowHalo 21:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, welcome. Except that all my hours of research and information was just deleted.

I know, and I know from personal experience that that can be very frustrating. But please understand that Wikipedia articles have to meet certain guidelines, like neutrality, notability and verifiability. I suggest you read the links provided above, so that you won't spend hours researching for nothing a second time. If you have any questions on how to edit Wikipedia, do not hesitate to leave me a message. AecisBrievenbus 21:10, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I too, welcome you to Wikipedia. I do hope this incident hasn't scared you off. Acalamari 21:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
