[edit] Not a silly question at all

OK, I apologize for this "silly question," but I feel compelled to ask. While I was actively editing an article at Wikipedia (a little before 8:00 pm Central Daylight Time) all of the sudden, all the blue Wikipedia "links" became blue and underlined. OK--silly question time: Why did this happen? Was this vandalism? Or did the Wiki-Administrators order a system-wide change over? Please tell me what happened, please? Thank you in advance. 01:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)~ User:ProfessorPaul

This happens to me sometimes as well, it's probably a local memory(RAM) problem at your computer.

It can happen while you are:

  • A) reading a very large article
  • B) use several programs at the same
  • C) after the computer has been on for a long time
  • D) a combination of the three.

You might want to run a anti-virus program, just in case. Computer viruses and other malicious programs can take a big bite of your computers memory.

Do you still have the same problem or did it go away? --Eivindt@c 01:23, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey, after a few minutes, the problem "fixed" itself. But thank you for responding to me. I really enjoy Wikipedia. Editing it is my "recreation."  :) ProfessorPaul 01:30, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

That's good to hear and it's nice to see that you're enjoying Wikipedia, happy editing. --Eivindt@c 01:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Yeah, it is OK now

Thank you for responding so quickly; the problem seems to have fixed itself.  :) Thanks again. ProfessorPaul 01:31, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Ah, good to see a newcomer getting settled in nicely. I thought it might interest you to look at our list of Wikiprojects here. --HappyCamper 01:46, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please provide edit summaries

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] US Illegal Immigration

You did a great job in helping this article along. It is quite an achievement to change and improve something like this, without having POV disputes etc. Well done! wallie 22:00, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks Wallie!

Thanks, Wallie. I appreciate that. I am not finished yet, and I will continue to work on that article with NPOV.  :) ProfessorPaul 02:06, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. I note that it has already attracted a POV flag. O well. That's to be expected, given the subject matter. Whatever is in the article will never please everyone... Wallie 20:01, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Twilight Zone

Nice informative work with your Twilight Zone episode edits. Thanks! Travisl 01:57, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merger Proposal

I have proposed that the Lyle H. Boren article you recently created be merged with the Lyle Boren article I created back in January, 2005. --TommyBoy 05:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

I have re-established Lyle H. Boren as a redirect page. You may want to check that page's edit histoey to ensure that information you included in that article is included in the Lyle Boren article. --TommyBoy 19:59, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning the Twilight Zone

Sure! I'd be happy to help! I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia and I'll do anything I can to make it better. Just let me know what I can do. By the way, just out of curiosity, why did you choose me? --Tuspm [Leave A Message] 22:25, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the 13 Illuminati Bloodlines Article

I know that you have just added some links onto the article. That is good job. Thank you. But the main problem still remains; I need to find people who are experienced with good writing, NPOV, and formatting to write out the best article possible for the 13 Illuminati Bloodlines. I prefer explanations on the history of each bloodline, where they are from, and what each bloodline is currently doing. I hope it is possible for you to help me find good edittors, writers, and administrators who are experienced with Wikipedia, and are able to ensure that the article works out to be the best. It may sound as if though I am not a good writer. I am a good writer, the only problem is that I need the fire to start in order to give me some idea of what to write about. Also - since I already know too much, I may be too biased, so please help me to write the best possible article on Wikipedia - in 3 years - FEATURED ARTICLE! Thanks. --Lord X 17:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)USer:Xinyu

I need your cooperation in the issue with the vandalism issue.
Copy this message to the user that is changing everything on the episode pages; thanks

[edit] 216.244.12.76 I need to talk to you

Hi, I am an administrator, Xinyu, and I got a report from ProfesorPaul, about how you've been, "vandalizing" EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF The Twilight Zone. Discuss your intentions, what you have editted, fixed up, and under what pretext you have for doing so. I need you to tell me all the information you can get, and I promise both you and ProfessorPaul, this problem would be negotiable, once the facts has been laid bare, and then I'll see that NPOV, justice, and peace would be restored on this article. Thank you, please reply on my user TALK page. Thank you. --Lord X 01:36, 20 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu

This way, we can solve this problem nice and early - in every single talk page where the discussions take place. Thanks for your cooperation. --Lord X 01:47, 20 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu

ps. that way - we, more specifically I can talk to him one way or another. Thank you. --Lord X 01:47, 20 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu
Please don’t copy the same thing to lots of places (use templates, if you must) and sign your posts using your own username. Also, Xinyu is not an administrator (and never was one) and it’s a bad idea to claim otherwise. —xyzzyn 05:13, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
What are you talking about - this --Lord X 20:35, 21 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu is my signature...--Lord X 20:35, 21 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu
My remark was addressed to User:ProfessorPaul. —xyzzyn 21:54, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

OK, so I’ve looked at some of User:216.244.12.76’s edits. I think that the editor did not state his or her intention well enough (or, for that matter, at all…), but, taken as a whole, the edits were apparently not in bad faith. I can think of several reasons related to WP:NPOV and WP:V to delete those sections; I’m not sure, however, whether that editor had these in mind. (As for section headings without any text to follow them, removing those was clearly a good thing.) Anyway, if you want to know more about vandalism and how to deal with it, see WP:VAND.

[edit] I need support on AfD for 13 Illuminati Bloodlines

The article is posted for an AfD. We either need to fix it up more, or get more, "Verifiable." sources. Also, for or against deletion of article on Thirteen Illuminati Bloodlines? Thanks, you're my only support, considering everyone else wants the article to be deleted...Thanks. --Lord X 22:58, 25 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu

[edit] Comma splice

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2006_Israel-Lebanon_conflict&curid=6299613&diff=69913180&oldid=69912646 ISn't that unnecesary? The original sentence has the pre-comma clause as dependant with the use of "as that", so it is not a comma splice since it cannot stand by itself. -- Avi 23:47, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nice adds on Synar

Just wanted to say good adds... Tvccs 02:35, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your note - I met him and liked him a lot as well, and he was also decent enough to know when he'd been beaten and do the honorable thing, which is something very rare in and of itself. Tvccs 00:33, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Big Foot Expansion

Wow, i really like how you expanded the whole article, there was no information before that, but could you cite your sources, like books, because the websites mentioned seem just like some inofficial sites...--Larzan 16:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NC16002 disappearance

I have deleted your last change to NC16002 disappearance. We don't really need to state the obvious in articles, like saying that someone who disappeared in a 1948 aircraft crash has been missing or presumed dead since. Also, all of those subheads in such a short article were overpowering. Furthermore, two of the subheads, The last flight, and The takeoff for Miami, actually preceded a paragraph which led with the previous flight (Miami to San Juan). [edit] The Lincoln Conspiracy

Hi ProfessorPaul. Nice job on the edits you made on The Lincoln Conspiracy articles I started (wish I had thought of some of them). I had not heard anything previously about National Treasure 2: The Book of Secrets. Although I am sure it will be crap for history (like the The Lincoln Conspiracy itself), I still look forward to viewing it. Thanks. Edeans 02:02, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Vandalism at "Infamous" disambig page

Thanks for taking care of that, ProfessorPaul. It seems like the user in question might be a bit confused about the page, so I've gone ahead and tried to clear things up. -- Natalya 03:40, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ross Thomas (actor)

Very nice work with Ross Thomas. I've removed the notability tag. All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 20:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
