This page is a place-holder for the moment.

I am recovering from my recent completion of grad school, so most of my edits are filling in details of topics that interest me as opposed to longer work. I'll repair my damaged brain cells shortly, I'm sure.

Interests:

Biogeochemistry of the organic sulfur cycle and environmental microbiology- did my graduate work in these two topics

Non-linear dynamics- more of a layperson's interest in this area than anything.

20th Century U.S. History and biographies, especially the popular works of

Bob Woodward

Mark Bowden

Sylvia Nasar

20th Century American Lit, especially

Kurt Vonnegut

George Orwell

Aldous Huxley

(This was before my personality was sucked out by graduate school.)

Good popular science stuff such as

Carl Sagan

James Gleick

James D. Watson's last non-technical book, DNA is another good example of enjoyable popular science writing.
