I moved the reference to the accusation of his anti-semitism from the introductory paragraph because, though important, is not really a defining attribute. I also removed the embolded passage of this line:

who left PE in the early 90s and later on re-joined the crew - is part of the Rapcore outfit Confrontation Camp - 'a name that could have led to a scandal but didn't, probably because the group's records aren't distributed by a major label.

It isn't clear why the name would led to a scandal. Clarification should be given for this line in order for it to be included.


"it was an open secret that Rick Rubin, executive producer of PE's first two LPs and cofounder of Def Jam was of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, as were The Beastie Boys"- how was it even an "open" secret that Rubin was Jewish, even if one had never heard of him the last name "Rubin" would have been a gigantic clue. There is also of course nothing secretive about being Jewish, whether or not Rubin is a practicing member of the faith or not. All that being said their apparent silence about Professor Griff's statements is unsettling Francis Burdett 22:17, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

  1. What does their sharing birthdates have to do with being childhood friends?
  2. I presume none of them changed birthdays since then.
