The album was released in the second quarter of 2004. The album included 5 singles: "Anapantites Kliseis", "Treli Kardia", "Katse Kala", "Anditheseis" and "Stin Kardia Mou Mono Thlipsi"; which were big hits for Elena. After the Eurovision Paparizou re-released the album with a new CD which contained 11 new tracks that included the Eurovision songs. The album was titled Protereotita: Euro Edition. At the end of 2005 Elena re-released the album for the third and final time, this time it had all the songs from Protereotita and the Euro Edition and this time the songs from the "Mambo!" CD single.

The first CD single to be released from the original album Protereotita was "Anapandites Kliseis". "Anapandites Kliseis"' was double A-side single with "Treli Kardia." The single peaked at number 1 for a successful 2 weeks. After the release of the CD single a number of singles (video clips) followed throughout the year. The first being "Antithesis", which was followed by "Katse Kala" then the last being "Stin Kardia Mou Mono Thlispi."

Protereotita: Euro Edition was a rerelease of Elena Paparizou's debut album, Protereotita. It was released in 2005, and includes her Eurovision-winning song, "My Number One" followed by "The Light in Our Soul" in the summer of 2005.

In early 2005, Elena was chosen for the Eurovision song contest 2005 in Kiev where she won. After Elena's success, Protereotita was released again with 11 new tracks and "My Number One" was released throughout Europe. "My Number One" was the Elena's second CD single to go to number 1 in Greece.

Προτεραιότητα: Euro Edition + Mambo! (Protereotita: Euro Edition + Mambo) is an album by Elena Paparizou. It was the second re-release of Protereotita, the first of which was to include her winning Eurovision entry. This was the Euro Edition too, but also included her #1 Greek hit, Mambo!. The whole album, including both re-releases, sold more than 90,000 copies and became double platinum in Greece.

In was released in Greece in November 2005 and was to be the last time Protereotita would be re-released because six months later, in April 2006, Elena released her second studio album Υπάρχει Λόγος.

After the release of the singles from the original album and the Euro Edition, in November "Mambo!" was released as a CD single in Greece. "Mambo!" went to number one for an amazing 10 weeks including Christmas number one. Due to the success of the single Sony BMG released Protereotita for a third time. "Mambo!" was the only single to be released from the third edition of Protereotita.

Protereotita was a very successful album in Greece and peaked at number 1 for eight weeks. This was Elena's most successful album to date in Greece as a solo artist. The success of the album continued to grow as Elena released singles and video clips from the album throughout the year of 2004 up to Elena was picked for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev which she won.
