PropagandArt

PropagandArt is any form of media representing a cause or action. The media most commonly used is print; creating material such as postcards, posters, billboards. This form of propaganda is very cost effective as well, as making multiple copies of something is relatively cheaper than creating an ad for broadcast television or radio. There are popular movements that fully utilize the art of PropagandArt, such as Obey, which is most known for its "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" campaign, but internationally have created an organization of propaganda media in the form of clothing, posters and stickers dissenting from topics such as George Bush and Communism. PropagandArt plays an important role in developing ideas around the world, as it helps marginalized voices speak, but can also aid the dominant voice get even louder. It is a double-edged sword that, if wielded properly, can move mountains.
PropagandArt is a portmanteau of the words "propaganda" and "art".
