Project Trust

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project Trust (PT) is one of the longest established Gap Year organisations in the UK. It is based at The Hebridean Centre on the Isle of Coll off the North West coast of Scotland where prospective and returing volunteers are required to attend residential selection, training and de-briefing weeks intended for suitablity, preparation and winding down.

Since its inception in 1967 it has provided over 5,500 volunteer students with a daunting yet ultimately exciting and rewarding Gap Year experience. It is a small well run organisation that drawing on its ability to offer a full year overseas experience as setting it apart from the increasingly competitive gap year market. Importantly PT volunteers do not take away from the local job market and they immerse themselves within the local community, understanding, co-operating and befriending it. PT attracts a range of school leavers from the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands sending them to over 100 projects around the globe. Popular projects include Guyana, China and many across Africa.
