Project 1221

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project 1221 is the name of an Italian automobile company. The company is developing a new supercar, the MF1, originally for launch in 2005. Project 1221 includes ex-Lamborghini and Ferrari engineer Mauro Forghieri and ex-Pininfarina designer Emanuele Nicosia. The CEO is Andreas Andrianos.

The MF1 will be priced over at exactly €675,000 and will reportedly be powered by a 1500 bhp engine. The company plans to build 200 examples.

The MF1 was first reported to use an aero turbine engine as apposed to the standard piston engine, but since, Project 1221 has decided to run normal "reciprocating engines" as well as keep developing their turbine engine idea. It is expected to be the fastest production car ever built, with a top speed at around 450km/h.

Same jet turbine powerplant and easy LHS to RHS steering transfer, together with armour plating option, they are working on a berlinetta called the Aellopous.
