Professor Green (born November 28, 1983), is a battle rapper and MC from Bow, Tower Hamlets, England. He is currently signed to Mike Skinner's label The Beats and published by Bucks Music Group. As one of the countries leading battle MC's, Professor Green was invited to join a major battle competition in the Bahamas for a prize money of $50,000. Professor Green was able to reach the final of the illustrious event only to be beaten in the final by the reigning champion Jin. Jin, who gained fame on BET's Freestyle Friday, had actually battled Professor Green before in a Jumpoff competition where Jin notoriously won with 2 couplets while being half drunk. Professor Green has taken time out from battle rapping to work on his debut album, but has stated that he will return to battle rapping; mostly at Jumpoff. His first mixtape, Lecture#1 is on sale now and includes the popular tracks, "Before I Die", "Stereotypical Man" and "Upper Clapton Dance". It seems as though Green has gained a few rival artists, one well known Jumpoff regular, Emcee Saint, who tears into Green in his track "Colourblind".
