Pro bono net

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pro Bono Net is a national non-profit organization based in New York City that uses technology to increase access to justice for the millions of poor people in the U.S. who face legal problems every year without help from a lawyer.

Pro Bono Net has partnered with nonprofit legal organizations across the U.S. to develop and maintain two web platforms: www.probono.net which supports tens of thousands of public interest lawyers and pro bono attorneys around the country who provide legal services to low income people and www.LawHelp.org which provides self-help legal information directly to the low income public.

Founded in 1998 with a grant from the Open Society Institute, today Pro Bono Net is supported by a wide range of foundations, law firms, and corporate sponsors.
