Category talk:Professional magicians

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why is there an entire article posted before the categories? Also, note that it appears to be copied wholesale from some other site.

[edit] Subcats

I've started categories based on country. I admit this has the potential to get problematical (is James Randi Canadian or American? is Max Malini Russian? what do we do with someone like Lennart Green? does he get his own specific category or should there be a blanket Category:European magicians?)

When (if ever?) does someone belong in 2 categories (or even three if you count Category:Magic (illusion))? I would tend to say if they are obviously a celebrity (David Copperfield (illusionist), Siegfried & Roy) or a known historical figure (Harry Houdini). But good argument could be made that everyone belongs in all of 'em. Perhaps this could get objective some?

A link to European magicians would be very useful here. I am the president of Finlands Magicians accosiation, and would also prefer a link to a Finnish magic page or some kind of reference to it. You can contact me on kim.wist@dlc.fi, link to my homepage: http://www.kimwist.com Thank you.
