[edit] Ecoregion stub template

Wow, you've added a lot of articles about ecological areas -- great start! Each time you create one, you might want to add this text at the bottom (remember to include the curly brackets):

{{ecoregion-stub}}.

This will let other users interested in ecology know that you've created a "stub," or a very short article, on a related topic, and they can read it and perhaps contribute additional information. Take a look at Pagaibamba Protection Forest, I've added the stub to that one so you can see how it will look. Bookgrrl 01:29, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

A bit more explanation of the regions would be nice too, otherwise most people won't understand what the articles are about. To make it even more pleasing for your readers, its also advised to bold the subject of the article when you first mention it (explained at Wikipedia:Tutorial (Formatting)) and link to other words you mention in your article like Bookgrrl did above with the Pagaibamba Protection Forest link. (explained at Wikipedia:Tutorial (Wikipedia links)) - Dammit 16:09, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the advice. I definetely appreciated. =)

[edit] country geo stub templates

I've also notice that you've added a number of articles about rivers. As Bookgrrl and Dammit said above, it's good to give an explanation of where these are located. Places that may seem familiar to you are often unknown by people who don't understand the subject matter. For example, a place called Wilbur Park may mean something to me, but other people would have no idea what it is or where it's located.

Also, there are specific stub templates for locations in each country. {{Ecuador-geo-stub}}, {{Peru-geo-stub}}, {{Chile-geo-stub}} are just a few. There is a whole list at WP:STUBS. It would help stub-sorters out a lot if you put the correct template on in the first place, especially if we are unfamiliar with the subject of the article.

I hope I explained things well enough. If you have any more questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Have a great day and happy editing! ~ Amalas rawr =^_^= 16:41, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

I definetly needed that piece of advice. Thanks a lot =) --Priscilla D 16:43, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Context

Hi,

please give more context to your articles so that they are more comprehensible for readers. Kpjas 08:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I will try to improve all of them =) --Priscilla D 02:05, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

It appears that many of your contributions have been copied from other websites. Some have been translated from Spanish, but this does not prevent problems with the copyrights. We canbnot accept material which is the property of another website. Fan-1967 02:56, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Well if you take a better look to my articles you will see that most of the time, I try to read many articles about one same topic. Most of the time, you are right, they are from Spanish, and as a matter of practice I try to do a kind of summary from the information I read. I do apologized because my english is not as good as I wished, but definetely my articles are not an exact copy of any pages (except the two that are already stated in my discussion pages) and that was because I couldn't find a better information in Spanish either. --Priscilla D 03:00, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Copyright violations are unacceptable and persistent violators will be blocked. Your original contributions are welcome. This was copied from [1], a translated version of which can be found, here.

I've noticed that many of your contributions to Wikipedia have so far been copys of information from other sites. Please consider writing articles in your own words, rather than adding copyrighted material. Any original contributions from you would be more than welcome, but please don't add copyrighted material again. Thank you.

[edit] Babelfish translates are also a copyright violation

Please do not post machine-translations of copyrighted websites like you did for Imaza District, these are still a copyright violation. Additionally, Babelfish creates so much nonsense english text they are hardly legible and need a complete rewrite anyway. You are only creating more work to other editors and not helping anyone by posting babelfish translations. andy 11:09, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

And Santa Rosa District, Peru is a classic example - babelfish made it the "Pink Saint" district! andy 11:21, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, for your advise. It's true that at the beginning I was trying to do some translations, but I was not using the Babel program you are talking about, because I don't know it. Also I didn't know it was a copyright violation. I'll try to fix ome of them. Thanks again --Priscilla D 18:28, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Locations

Hi! Regarding these Peruvian substubs you've been adding: Can you take a moment to expand these? There's so little content in them that it's difficult to know just what it is the article is about.  :) Thanks. - Lucky 6.9 03:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Are you the person who has been erasing them?? Anyway, I'm so sorry I didn't put enough information, I will put it right away - At leats all I know - Thanks. --Priscilla D 03:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

No problem. Yup, that was me. Just erased another, I'm afraid. It didn't make any sense to me; sorry. For instance, you're saying that these are places, but are they natural or man-made? Buildings? Churches? If you can add about six or eight short sentences to each of these, you'll have some good stubs. - Lucky 6.9 03:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

These three stubs: La Atalaya, El Tintero, and El Castillo, are three construction that belong to the monument of Cuelap. An architectural place made by the Chachapoyas culture in Amazonas, Peru. Sorry, I tried to do my best in writing these articles. I did these stubs, because in the main article of Cuelap, they were blank articles. Once a wikipedian told me that it was better to put two or three sentences of an article taht I know of what it is about that leave it blank. Pretty sure it's going to be somebody else who filled it up for me. I already put it in the Peruvian portal as articls in need of information. =) Thanks for your worry anyway. --Priscilla D 03:42, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Convictorio de San Carlos

Hi. I just tagged Convictorio de San Carlos for rewrite. I don't mean to criticize but the translation was rough enough that I couldn't follow it well enough to do it myself. Thanks. Catbar (Brian Rock) 02:52, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll try to do it again. Thanks =) --Priscilla D 22:53, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you! Catbar (Brian Rock) 00:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Machine-translated articles

Hi, could you please stop creating them. They're basically useless unless someone goes through the effort of cleaning them up, and to do that, they'd need to have access to the original text anyway, meaning that running an article from anywhere through a machine translator and pasting the results here is useless. Furthermore, translating something (machine or not), doesn't alter the copyright status, so a lot of your contributions will have to be deleted as copyright violations, no matter what the results happen to look like. It would help in cleaning them up if you could identify your sources somewhere, thanks. - Bobet 16:51, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Hear hear. Given that the "English" of these machine translations is largely incomprehensible anyway, you'd do much better adding interlanguage wikilinks to the Spanish WP where you got the text from. Best wishes Flapdragon 13:47, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Convictorio de San Carlos

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Convictorio de San Carlos, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] Warning

Please clean up your existing articles by providing sources and explaining the context instead of adding new articles. If you add more copyright-violating entries or incomprehensible machine translations, you will be blocked from editing. Kusma (討論) 17:19, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not coyping anything from any place. I'm trying to do what I can, looking information from one place to one another and intend to put themp into English. I supposed Wikipedia users were going actually helped me cleaning any grammatical mistakes I had. I don't really know if you are an administrator or not but you are kind of rude. Sorry if my articles cost you any kind of problems, I just tried to do my best.--Priscilla D 21:17, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Hans Heinrich Brüning Brookstedt

A tag has been placed on Hans Heinrich Brüning Brookstedt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hawaiian717 21:48, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cabildo (Peru)

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Cabildo (Peru), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. [edit] Batán Grande Reserved Zone

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Batán Grande Reserved Zone, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Spanish Wikipedia

¡Hola Priscilla! Ciao.

Hi Priscilla! I think it would be better for you to write articles in the Spanish Wikipedia rather than the English version. Most of your contributions are difficult to understand because as you said, your English is not the best. Perhaps this Spanish translation demonstrates how some of your phrases appear as nonsense. If you add an article to the Spanish Wikipedia, you may request that it be translated to the English version here, and eventually someone with a better understanding of English will get to it. Ciao.
