[edit] International broadcasts list

Hi. I just reverted edits on the section "International broadcasts" since it was only partially ordered in alphabetical order. If anyone would like to reorder the list, please do so consistently so that the entire list is ordered the same way. -- Ladida 13:08, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cable TV networks

Unless the country does not have a free-to-air television broadcast of Prison Break, the cable TV station that is broadcasting the show can be added. Otherwise, we'll have a huge list since most countries have cable television networks in conjunction with the free-to-air television networks. For this reason, I have removed "FOX8 - Australia" from the list. -- Ladida 09:09, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spoilers

I have created a template {{pbspoiler|SEASON}} because the main templates can't provide a decent link to the List of Episodes Page without trying to link to Specific seasons (eg. #season1). However, I have noticed that the issue of spoilers is contentious and whilst I personally feel that each episode summary is obviously going to contain spoilers, some might be caught out and be disappointed. How do people feel about spoilers on the episode guides? GenestealerUK 12:29, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I actually think it looks kinda bad. The template wasn't really needed. Like u said it's obvious that episode guides are gonna contain spoilers if you haven't already seen the episode, so people should not read them unless they want to know what happens. Same thing goes for the tv guide, but they don't put a spoiler warning on every show listing - it's common sense. Each episode has links to Series 1/2 pages via the template at the bottom. DJDannyP//Talk2Me 12:47, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
I think it is a bad idea; Template:Spoiler-about (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) will suffice. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 13:14, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
As I said, maybe it is obvious that a spoiler is about to appear. However, we cannot assume that someone has come to that page indirectly of their own choosing. They may well have come directly from search engines and are unaware that details of an episode they haven't watched are about to be revealed. Therefore, we take some responsibility if that happens unless we have a caution on the page. GenestealerUK 13:12, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Template:Spoiler-about (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) does not link to List of Prison Break episodes. I figured it would be better to include that link hence {{Pbspoiler|SEASON}} GenestealerUK 13:17, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
The spoiler template doesn't need to link to series 1/2, etc as the Prison Break template does. Even if someone comes through a search engine, then the page title is enough to let them know that they're going to be reading an episode guide. As with any discussion/information/anything about a tv show, it should be assumed that it is up to date with the most recent episode released. It looks kinda garish at the top of every article, it is implicit when seeing the article title/link page that it will contain spoilers. DJDannyP//Talk2Me 13:43, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Airdates and international broadcast list

The international broadcast list is now getting too long with the Airdates of Prison Break article becoming redundant. In the Airdates of Prison Break article, the US episode airdates are unnecessary since they're already in the "list of episodes" article and the airdates of other countries are unencyclopedic. I think that the written descriptions should be simplified and merged into the main Prison Break article. Furthermore, the international broadcast list can also do without the alternate titles and weekly schedule. Please see examples from the following feature articles: Arrested Development, Cheers, Felix the Cat, Lost (TV series), The Office (US TV series) and The Wire (TV series). What do you think? -- Ladida 12:13, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree with most of what you say, however, I do think that the names of the show in different languages are of interest especially since in many cases they are not literal translations of "Prison Break". Spebudmak 14:42, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
I've merged the international broadcast list into Airdates of Prison Break. Is the title of the article suitable? Since the article now contains premiere dates of the respective countries only. -- Ladida 03:31, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
When I created the Airdates of Prison Break list it was based on Airdates of Lost (now deleted). I approve of the moving of international broadcasts into the Airdates list -- makes it much more useful and encyclopaedic (and clears up space on the main Prison Break article). [edit] Suggested improvement

I think we need to put forward some suggestions on what to improve on this article. Here are some:

  • Add a section on critical response
  • Add a section on themes (?)
  • Add a section on particular characteristics of the show (like the short scene shown before the advertisement begins)
  • Expand on some sections (?)
  • Move DVD info to Episodes list page(?)

That's all I can think of right now. :) Ladida 03:31, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Fox River State Penitentiary redirects to this article. We should consider writing an article that describes the prison, much like our character articles. I don't mean a repeat of where it is filmed, I mean in a fictional sense, what can be gleamed from the show in terms of the details of the prison. Should this be incorporated into the article, should another article exist, or is it fine as is? -- GenestealerUK 23:34, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
I guess you can sort of write about the prison using episodes 6 and 7 particularly since the prison itself was featured heavily during the riot. It probably would be best if it was a separate article unless it's only a paragraph long. I was sort of hesitant creating a separate article for it since there is an article on Joliet Prison, which is essentially Fox River, except that article contains no information on the structure itself, only historical information. -- Ladida 06:04, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
  • Add references for dubious content. -- Ladida 06:09, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
added suggestion to move DVD list to Episode list page. Work reasonably well for the page listing the episodes of House and DVD info on the main page seems a bit too much like advertising sometimes. dont know if the wikipedia television project has a policy on this yet. -- Horkana {date}
There's only one DVD available. There's not enough information for it to have its own article. Jtrost (T | C | #) 02:18, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
not suggesting an article for just the DVDs, include the DVDs on the List of Prison Break episodes page

- How can you guys say "No fansites allowed" when that's where alot of information originates? That is just not right.71.116.136.10 10:20, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] European Goldfinch Dot Net

Can anyone decode the postings at EuropeanGoldfinch.net? It seems like the characters are giving subtle clues to the future plot. I'm not active on any Prison Break fan sites, but could someone post here (and in the article) about any deeper meanings people see? --OSUKid7 04:50, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Prison Break Someone has posted this I think or something.

[edit] Fansite

Why not add fansites? I don't see a difference between TV.vom Television without pity or TVIV and fansites when they all do the same thing..Bring Prison Break News a forums, and episode guides.208.61.30.94 19:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

- Agree, it's very arrogant to say "NO FANSITES ALLOWED", yet they expect the fansites to bring them information? This kind of arrogance by editors is why nobody takes wikipedia seriously anymore and defeats the purpose of wikipedia. 71.116.136.10 10:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA on hold

This article will be put on hold (for 7 days) until these minor adjustments can be made :

1. Well written? Fail Pass
2. Factually accurate? Border Fail
3. Broad in coverage? Pass
4. Neutral point of view? Pass
5. Article stability? Pass
6. Images? Pass

Additional comments :

  • The lead section doesn't convey enough information to situate the reader, it should be expanded.
  • The Plot doesn't carry the out-of-universe criteria that WP vows for in articles dealing with fiction (See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction).
  • The Trivia section should be part of the plot in a way to bring such the plot section to have more a out-of-universe feel.

Lincher 19:20, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

The lead sounds good to me ... now about the trivia section, since there is a no non-notable trivia in the GA criteria, I'm afraid it has to be cut down or added to the text somewhere in order to prose such information. Lincher 11:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
All notable, cited trivia has been moved into the prose. Uncited trivia has been removed altogether, and trivia about actors outside of the scope of the show have been moved to that actor's article. Jtrost (T | C | #) 12:26, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GA re-review ; pass

It now fulfills the requirements of the GA criteria. There was some nice writing added and some needed removal that brought the article to a better state. Good luck for the future of the article. Lincher 18:11, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stolen?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061024/ap_en_ot/prison_break_lawsuit_1 someone should put this in here. Avalon Bound 15:15, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Plot

Perhaps we should make it clear that for anyone else who is willing to break into a prison to save their wrongfully accused brother, tattooing the floorplan to your body isn't the best way to go about it, as surely at some point in your stay someone will notice the big-ass tattoo covering your entire body. Yes, believe it or not, the police look for identifying marks on your body. This would most likely result to a prison transfer and regretting you paid $4,000 for the service.

Did you even watch the show? The tattoo was in code, so only Scofield could understand it.

[edit] Name of the actor

Does anyone know what is the name of the actor who play the henchman who killed nick savrinn ? He is very styled. Roger_Smith

I find his name, it is Scott Jaeck. Roger_Smith

[edit] International Viewership - UK

There's information about the airing of the show in America, Canada and France, but nothing about its viewership in the United Kingdom. The show has been a success in the UK, getting good ratings on Five (terrestrial, first-run) and having an entire day (or weekend, I forget) dedicated to it on UKTV Gold (satellite, second-run).

I think that its airing in the UK, including critical repsonse and viewing figures, should be acknowledged. I would happily write the paragraph if someone could provide a few pieces of information, such as ratings for the premiere on Five, the date it first aired on Five and UKTV Gold average ratings of the season, etc. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by UberHW (talkcontribs) 15:14, 28 November 2006.

This is a section that I created but Australia's viewership was already there before I added Canada and France's viewership. There is no information on the UK's viewership because I have been unable to find information on the UK's viewer ratings. The information that is currently provided could be found from the news or from the broadcaster's press releases. I'm sure the show has been a great success elsewhere. I checked Five's website but I couldn't find their ratings information. Similarly for other countries, especially the non-English speaking countries, it is hard to find information about their viewership when one is unfamiliar with their language or how the ratings information is released in that particular country. [edit] Dutch

Hi I'm from the Dutch wikipedia. Does anyone know if Wentworth Miller speaks Dutch? Greets, dutch wiki.

[edit] Unearthed (Prison Break episode)

According to Wikipedia in popular culture: "Michael Scofield searches for Agent Mahone and reads an article on Wikipedia with a similar layout and his image in the top left." Can anyone confirm this? -- Zanimum 20:05, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello? -- Zanimum 19:43, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
It's not wikipedia but a random news website. -- Ladida 08:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Production codes

Could somebody tell me the source for production codes on the episode pages? thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 16:17, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

They are taken from TV.com. They can also be found from another site but I can't remember which one. Regards, Ladida 03:29, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tattoos

Im just very curious, how did they get the tattoos onto his body? were they temporary or stencilled on or was it like a body kit? --Chickenfeed9 17:15, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Season 3

I heated some rumors about season 3. Is it going to be s.3 ? --Göran Smith 14:22, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

The third season hasn't been confirmed by Fox yet. Regards, Ladida 03:29, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Is there any official (or nto so much?) way to find out about the status of Season 3 (Yeah..I AM that desperate). I frankly have no idea where to get this info even if it did exist.

THANKS Shopteacher 15:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC) (While on that note, DOES anyone have any updat eon it?

[edit] The Company/Secret Serivce

It seems it be very confusing as to who is working for the company and who is working for the secret service. For example in "Flight" Reynolds kills the former president and tells Samantha Brinker that she no longer needs the Company (who were going to get rid of her first) and that the company would no longer work in the series. But in recent episodes they seem to imply that Agent Kim works for the company who is run by the pad man. On the company page on wiki it lists Kim, and the agents in montana as working for the company but i thought they were Secret Service. DanDud88 21:10 14 Febuary 2007 (GMT)

A good point because regarding Kim I don't think there is any proof that he is or ever was a secret service agent. His biography states that little is known about him except that his role in President Reynold’s administration somehow connected to the company and that he reports to a Pad Man who is confirmed to be a leader of the Company. But I don't think that it has to be one or the other. Bill Kim could well be a secret service agent and also be working for the Company EARONHASE 17:05, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Product placement

Both Mahone and Kellerman (and I think a lot more people) use Motorola Razr cellphones. This could be considered as product placement?, and should be included in the article?--ometzit<col> 03:09, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't include it unless there was a significant amount of product placement. Many television shows have product placement. Regards, Ladida 07:34, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Poll: Prison Break episode infobox replacement

Hello guys, I'm looking into getting the Prison Break Infobox for episodes merged into {{Infobox Television episode}}. When I replace it there are two ways in which i can do this.

  1. replace with the normal type of episode navigation: Prev/Next episode
  2. keep using the season list type of navigation.

You can see an example of both types here: User:TheDJ/Sandbox I would like to hear from everyone which type of navigation they would prefer. --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 02:37, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Please leave your opinion (and reason for preference if possible) below:

[edit] I'd like to keep a season list

  • I'm a bit biased since I implemented the system in the Prison Break episode articles. The reason why I changed it was because I found it a bit annoying when I wanted to navigate to other episodes in the same season. Unlike some other shows, Prison Break is a serialised show so the storyline is developed over the season. Another reason was that some of the longer episode titles look odd (to me) when they are put on the same line. Regards, Ladida 07:30, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
  • I also vote for keeping the season list. I LOVE it.

Shopteacher 18:13, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Switch us to the Prev/Next system

  • I personally prefer this style because I find the lists to contain too much unrelated information when you simply look from the point of the episode article itself --TheDJ (talkcontribsWikiProject Television) 02:37, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
