I'm no expert, but I'd suggest that it's possible, especially in fiction, for a character to be transgender without having "gender identity problems". I think I'll add the category — if anyone objects, please discuss here. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 03:22, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

I'd say it would be ok, even though she didn't have any gender identity problems, her sexuality is ambiguous. She never has any sort of romance in canon work, but her relationship with Dorothy could be taken to be closer than friends. (And yes, she's definately one of the first TG characters in popular fiction.) Kyaa the Catlord 12:36, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Transgender refers to the mindset. Ozma's sex change was forced upon her by Mombi, thus she should not be considered transgender. --Scottandrewhutchins 18:11, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
