This should not have been moved. Her father was NOT king, he died when he was the Prince of Wales, so she should be under Princess Augusta Charlotte of Wales. Prsgoddess187 17:59, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I've moved it back. It was patiently wrong. A child of the Prince of Wales remains Prince/ess <name> of Wales until their father becomes king. If he dies without becoming king, they remain Prince/ess <name> of Wales until either they are awarded another title or they marry into one. Princeess <name> of Wales remains their maiden title used in biography after their death. Augusta Charlotte would only be Princess Augusta Charlotte of Great Britain if her father had been King of Great Britain or a member of the Royal Family without a title.FearÉIREANN\(caint) 19:23, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

I am a bit confused, but I think this is what happened:
  • Originally the article was at Princess Augusta Charlotte, Duchess of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttell
  • On December 9, I moved it to Princess Augusta Charlotte of Great Britain when I was tidying up the House of Hanover articles (It was not linked from the other articles, and I noticed it at the Line of succession article)
  • On December 10, spotting my mistake, I moved it to Princess Augusta Charlotte of Wales- the current title, and fixed the double redirect on Princess Augusta Charlotte, Duchess of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttell
  • However, User:Dimadick appears to have reverted my move to "of Wales" on January 19.

Grandchilden of the sovereign under modern rules are HRHs. That was not always the case. Was Augusta Charlotte a Royal Highness or merely a Highness at the time? FearÉIREANN\(caint) 05:16, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

  • In the WP article British princess, it states that from 1714 to 1917, children and male-line grandchildren of the sovereign were accorded the style of His/Her Royal Highness, male-line great-grandchildren were accorded the style of His/Her Highness. So, as Augusta was the daughter of the Prince of Wales, I believe that Her Royal Highness is correct for her. Prsgoddess187 15:53, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Why is the title of the article Princess Augusta Charlotte? Any other website than the National Portrait Gallery and the English Wikipedia refers her as Augusta (without Charlotte), and every literatur (in German) calls her Augusta Friedrike (Luise). -- Greetz Sir Gawain 00:49, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
