Prix du Muguet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix du Muguet is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Saint-Cloud Racecourse, usually on May 1st.
The race was first run in its present form in 1967, although there had been another race of the same name prior to this, which had been for three-year-olds over a distance of 2,000 metres. The present Prix du Muguet was given Group 3 status in 1972, which was elevated to Group 2 in 1995. Muguet is the French name for the flower Lily of the Valley.
