Prix du Cadran

The Prix du Cadran is a Group 1 flat horse race in France for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 4,000 metres (approximately 2 miles 4 furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse during the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting in early October.

It was first run in 1837 at the Champ de Mars over a distance of 2,500 metres (1 mile 4½ furlongs). This was increased to 4,000 metres in 1843, then to 4,200 metres (2 miles 5 furlongs) in 1846. The race was transferred to Longchamp when the course opened in 1857 and the present distance was set in 1913. Prior to 1991 the race was run in May.
