Prix Vicomtesse Vigier
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Vicomtesse Vigier is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds run over a distance of 3,100 metres (approximately 1 mile 7½ furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse in May.
It was first run in 1858 as one of a pair of races called the Prix Biennal (one for three-year-olds and one for four-year-olds and upwards), which were both re-named in 1940 in memory of Jean Prat, a leading French racehorse owner who died earlier that year. To avoid confusion with the other Prix Jean Prat, this version was given its present name in 1985.
