Prix La Haye Jousselin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix La Haye Jousselin is a French Group One Thoroughbred steeplechase race run at a distance of 5,500 meters at Auteuil Hippodrome on Route des Lacs in Paris, France.

First run in 1880, the Prix La Haye Jousselin is held annually in November. It is referred to as the Grand Steeplechase of the autumn because it is the most important French steeplechase in the second half of the racing season. Currently the Prix La Haye Jousselin offers a purse of €300,000.

Notably, Al Capone II equaled a world record for repeat winners of horse races held by only three other horses by winning this race seven years in succession from 1993 through 1999.
