Prison Planet is a small-budget 1992 science fiction film directed by Armand Gazarian. It was released in 1999. It is still sometimes shown on the Sci-Fi channel. It has not been released on DVD in the U.S., although VHS copies can still be found.
- Its working title was Badlanders.
- Michael M. Foley later went on to play Tracey Swedom on "WMAC Masters".
- There are some obvious references to Akira and Anakin Skywalker in the opening text scroll.
- The word "despair" is misspelled on in the opening text scroll.
