Prism (real name Robbie) is a mutant supervillain in Marvel Comics Universe.
[edit] Character History
As a member of the merciless group, the Marauders, Prism has the ability to absorb, reflect and amplify beams of light and other energy with his crystalline body. He is a cold-hearted killer and was willing to murder dozens of innocent mutants during the Mutant Massacre, when the Marauders were sent by their leader, Mr. Sinister, to slaughter the underground dwellers known as the Morlocks. As the X-Men arrived, Prism fought fiercely but was soon taken out by Jean Grey when she smashed him into a wall.
Prism occasionally sits missions out, but when he does fight alongside his team he is used as a first-wave striker with Vertigo. They combine their powers to disorient and blind their opponents, which allow the heavy hitters to attack. Prism is a member of the 198 Mutants left after M-Day, and was most recently seen in a mental institution, where he rose to power and exacted revenge on those who harassed him and lost their powers.
[edit] Death Count
Prism has apparently died three times during his time as a Marauder. The first was when Jean Grey used her telekinetic powers to throw Prism against a wall, smashing him to pieces. The second was during Inferno, where a group of policemen shot Prism and shattered him. The third and final time was when X-Man used his mental powers to slaughter all of the Marauders. It is unknown if Prism actually does die, or if he is able to piece his crystal body back together; It would explain his overconfidence and willingness to battle those stronger than him (Sinister regularly cloned members of the Marauders when they died).
