Prince of Wales Public School, built in 1876, is the oldest operating elementary school in the Simcoe County District School Board. The school is located in downtown Barrie, Ontario and is neighbouring Barrie Central Collegiate Institute. Prince of Wales Public School has been placed on the list of 'Prohibitive to Repair' schools in the Simcoe County District School Board, but with the help of many determined parents, local residents and teachers it has remained to stay open. The administrative staff includes Jan Olson (principal), Debbie Watson (senior administrative support) and Mrs. Hutchinson (principal's assistant).
