Prince of Peace Preparatory

Prince of Peace Preparatory is a Catholic high school in Clinton, Iowa. It was previously known as Mater Dei High School (1990-2000) and St. Mary's High School (1915-1989). The new full name is Prince of Peace Catholic Academy and College Preparatory School or POPCAPS for short. It is a parochial school under the Clinton Prince of Peace parish. The mission statement is: to provide educational programs that promote Gospel values and Catholic traditions in the context of a changing world.[1]

Prince of Peace is a class 1-A school with several sports teams participating in the Big East athletic conference. Its team is named the Irish. They also have a band, chorus, yearbook/newspaper, student council and several other groups. They are also very competitive in Cross Country, ranked in state and winning its district in 2006.
