Prince Jefri Bolkiah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
HRH Prince Jefri Bolkiah (born January 1, 1954), is a member of the Brunei Royal Family. He is notorious for his lavish lifestyle.
In 2000, he was sued for allegedly embezzling a staggering £8 billion ($15.4 billion) from the Brunei Investment Agency, the entity set up to invest Brunei's oil revenues. In February 2006, in a surprise move, his brother, Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei, agreed to drop all charges against him. Now in exile, the prince lives in London and Paris.
Some of his possessions included:
- a 50 metre yacht
- diamond-plated rims
- gold-plated toilet brushes
- a $12m Airbus A340 simulator
- thousands of tonnes of marble and other materials, which he intended to use to build a grand palace
There are scam emails from people pretending to be Prince Jefri Bolkiah asking for financial help.
