Prince Abubakar Audu is from Kogi State, Nigeria. He was the first and second executive governor of the state.
Prince Abubakar Audu was a banker for over twenty five years as well as a commissioner for finance on his way to becoming the governor of Kogi state. While serving in those offices he had a remarkable record which left an indelible mark in the minds of people.
During his tenure as governor, Prince Abubakar Audu outperformed all his peers and emerge as the best performing governor in Nigeria. Taking office in 1999, Prince Abubakar Audu appeared poised to do whatever it takes to develop Kogi State and turn it into one of the best states in Nigeria.
Rather than making the needs of the larger national interest his top priority, Prince Abubakar Audu initially devoted time and his prestige to divisive issues that touch the heart the problems facing his people. His popularity rose greatly when he tackled issues such as education (by building a state university), health care (building and equipping state of the art hospitals), and agriculture.
Recently, he has been once again recalled by the people of his beloved Kogi State to deliver them from an unskilled hand.
Considering his national and international prestige, his unequalled political, economic and cultural network Prince Audu holds all the cards to take up this responsibility. Prince Audu, a man of the people with a heart for the people, as he is called in Nigerian press, declares to be ready for this noble mission.
