PRIDE Bushido 9 was a mixed martial arts event held by PRIDE Fighting Championships. This event held the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the first ever Welterweight tournament and Lightweight tournament. It took place at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, Japan on September 25, 2005. Under BUSHIDO rules, matches are 2 rounds only. It is considered by many fans and critics to be one of the most entertaining MMA events ever held. The finals for the welterweight tournament as well as the lightweight tournament was held at Shockwave 2005 later that year on new year's eve.
