[edit] To the speedy deleters of the world

Working on getting this past a stub. Hang on a sec, please. Jokestress 07:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Dozens of NY Times articles about the guy, including a big obituary in the original version. I hope in the future this kind of stub gets tagged AfD by deletionists rather than db, so there can be a little discussion without having to race to save a little stub. Why don't you gather your information first and then write the article? Or consider the {{subst:inuse}} template. It would save us all time. Why wouldn't an article with a sentence stating that someone was a lawyer and they have a semi-famous wife be deleted?

I have written several hundred biographies in this manner without speedy deletionists wasting everyone's time. Your comments above could be better presented as part of an AfD, since this article is almost certainly going to prevail despite the attempted speedy deletion. Again, I suggest AfD in the future instead of a rigid knee-jerk response. Discussion is almost always a better option than unilateral deletionism attempts, especially when there is evidence that someone is notable. Jokestress 11:26, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
