The population in 2004 was 201,347 and the area is 563.62 km². The elevation is 475 m.

The city is named after president Prudente de Morais. Presidente Prudente is considered one of the best cities to live in Brazil itself and to invest. It has an infrastructure in conditions to shelter investments of any size. With a vocation for the tourism business-oriented and the farming, the city is the cradle of the quarter horse and the capital of the Nelore cattle

Education

With more than 130 educational establishments, from the kindergarten to the University education, it is distinguished for the universities,such as the Unesp and Unoeste and for the institutions such as Toledo, Sesi, Senai, ETA and IESPP, which together add more than 80 thousand students , distributed in more than 110 different courses of graduation and after-graduation, generating for the city specialized and enabled man power. According to the Getúlio Foundation Vargas Research, published in the magazine Você s.a.-Exame, the city is in 29ª rank among the Brazilian cities to get a professional career
