Premier Lodge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Premier Lodge was a chain of 141 hotels owned by the Spirit Group. In 2004 Whitbread acquired Premier Lodge for the sum of £505 million.

Whitbread merged the business with its own Travel Inn brand and re-branded all the hotels as "Premier Travel Inn"[1]. The move to change the name partly resulted from consumer confusion with Travelodge.

Hotels which were originally built as Premier Lodge feature slightly smaller rooms to other Premier Travel Inn's, however they also have wider beds. This was a marketing tool used by Premier Lodge before its acquisition by Whitbread.
