Prehistoric sites in England

England has many prehistoric sites of interest, dating from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. Probably the most famous English prehistoric site is Stonehenge, in Wiltshire.

Several hundred thousand years ago, Britain was joined to mainland Europe by a land bridge, allowing free movement between the two. As a result, several sites show human occupation from this time period:
