Pre-Pastonian glaciation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pre-Pastonian glaciation is the name for an early Pleistocene glacial stage used in the British Isles. It preceded the Pastonian interglacial and followed the Bramertonian interglacial

It appears to have been a generally cold phase and occurred between around 800,000 and 1.3m years ago. Pollen evidence indicates however that there were climatic fluctuations from cooler to warmer climates throughout the period.
