PRAXIS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To become a certified, licensed teacher one must complete a series of authentic assessments. Certification requirements vary from state to state. The Praxis Series is a rigid set of professional assessments. Individual state education agencies use the Praxis Series assessments to help make teacher licensing and certification decisions. The Praxis Series consists of three components. Those components include series I, series II, and series III. Series I assesses fundamental academic abilities. Series II evaluates teaching knowledge, general knowledge, and subject-specific content. Lastly, Series III assesses one’s performance inside the classroom. Educational Testing Service or ETS provide the Praxis Series assessments. ETS is a non-profit service whose sole mission is to advance learning.
