Power Stone 2 is a multiplayer fighting game that built on the innovative gameplay introduced by its predecessor, Power Stone. Similar to Super Smash Bros, Power Stone 2 allows the player to choose between multiple characters and use the environment around them. However, while Super Smash Bros. relies on a 2D point of view, Power Stone makes it 3D.

Power Stone 2 originated as an arcade game, like many others on the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast served as a testing ground for successful arcade games. Despite relative popularity, Power Stone and this sequel would remain the only games in the series. Power Stone 2 is different from the first, like new voices, and the loss of the combo system and vertical health bar.

[edit] Boss Characters

  • Pharaoh Walker - A giant sphinx like robot, controlled by a small creature. The key is destroying two legs until the monster falls and then hitting the head. Alternatively, you could climb on his back, destroy the man gunning the laser, and gun the laser yourself, allowing you to shoot the robot's head a total of three times in one "session".
  • Dr. Erode - The villain of the game. A monster sitting at a table. Use the items on the table and throw at the monster's head. When he is heavily damaged, his heart will appear for you to attack.

An innovative addition to Power Stone 2 was the adventure mode, which is much akin to an Action-RPG layout. Players can get coins and items which they can then in turn transform into other things, allowing for much replayability.
