Powelliphanta traversi traversi is a rare large terrestrial mollusc in the family Rhytididae, endemic to the North Island of New Zealand. It is found on the Horowhenua coastal plain from the Ohau River area northwards to the Manawatu River, and the adjacent foothills of the Tararua Ranges.
The shell is yellow-brown ground colour, with the base spirally lined or banded in darker brown, and the dorsal surface mostly devoid of a colour pattern.
Major diameter is up to 53 mm, and height up to 27 mm.
Powelliphanta traversi traversi is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Nationally Endangered.
