Poster of a Girl is the second North American single from the album Live It Out from canadian indie rock band Metric following Monster Hospital. In Europe it was the first single to be released from the album.

The songs seems to talk about a lonely woman looking for comfort in another man's company or a woman only looking for the best sexual pleasures and even resorts to masturbation. In the latter part of the song Emily Haines recites the words of the entire song in spoken French.

The video shows Emily entering a nightclub then she sees a blindfolded woman in a room, after she removes the blindfold it turns out to be herself and she runs out there is a scene of the band performing and she walks up to them and when the Emily on stage reaches out to the one in crowd she faints and the video ends. The video was directed by Micah J. Meisner
