Postal Orders of Hong Kong
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Postal Orders of Hong Kong had their own postal order history. First, Hong Kong issued its own local inland postal orders in the late 1890s. Second, it issued British postal orders from the local post offices. The last date of issue from local post offices was 31 December, 1993. The British Forces Post Office in Hong Kong continued to issue British postal orders until 20 May, 1997. The last day of issue postal orders from Hong Kong, especially the B.F.P.O. ones are sought after by collectors of Commonwealth of Nations postal orders, as Hong Kong was still a British colony when postal orders ceased to be issued.
