[edit] Synopsis
While she is sitting at home, bored, Sarah sees an advertisement in the paper for a free HIV test. She goes to the hospital to get the test; and while talking to the nurse, she realizes that her careless behaviors in regard to sex, her heroin addiction, and blood transfusions have put her at risk for HIV infection. She gets worried and leaves the clinic, before getting the results of the blood test, to tell everyone she loves that she has AIDS. Sarah tells the gang that she has AIDS and they are worried until they learn that she hasn't gotten the results of her blood test yet. While Sarah is talking to them about AIDS, a public school teacher invites her to speak to her class of young students about AIDS. Sarah gives a very racy and offensive speech to the children. Still thinking that she has AIDS, Sarah spends all $17,000 in the account that she shares with her sister on starting the Sarah Silverman AIDS Foundation and opening the Silverman AIDS Awareness Center. Sarah spends a lot of money doing work to promote AIDS awareness; but she seems to be promoting herself, rather than the disease. While giving an important speech to a crowd of people with AIDS, the crowd becomes angry and violent when they find out that Sarah does not actually yet know if she has AIDS or not. Sarah leaves in the middle of the speech to get the results of the blood test, and she finds out that does not have AIDS.
Meanwhile, it is Jay's birthday and he mentions to Laura that he has never had a birthday party because his mother told him that every day was his birthday, in order to cover up her addiction to beer and cake. Jay's mother died of this addiction on his actual birthday, and he never celebrate the holiday again. After hearing this, Laura decides that she is going to throw him his first birthday party, and Jay gets very excited about the party. He invites Brian and Steve, who are worried about going to the party because all of Jay's friends are his fellow police officers. They think that the police officers will not like them because they are gay and because they look like they smoke pot. However, they are surprised to find that they actually have a good time talking to the police officers about video games at the party.
Jay's party is ruined when all of the police officers are called away because a riot has broken out at the location where Sarah was giving her speech. The audience that was watching her became very angry when they learned that she did not have AIDS. Sarah arrives, safely, at what is left of Jay's party and she is very excited because she does not have AIDS. She announces to everyone that because she no longer thinks she has AIDS, she has been reborn and she gets the remaining partygoers to sing a birthday song for her. Jay watches them sing, upset, because Sarah has stolen his first birthday party. Afterwards, Sarah reflects by saying that she is glad that she got rid of her boredom.
