Positive sound system
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An underground free party/sound system crew based in Brighton, England.
Formed in 1992 with a 2 kilowatt sound system
- previously used in acid house parties during the late 80s - the system eventually grew to 18K by 2006.
During this time Positive organised dozens of free parties on Brighton beaches
as well as numerous warehouse and squat parties.
During the period 1992-2001 they received fines and court costs totalling £5,200 for 'illegal' parties.
Despite having equipment impounded due to the Criminal Justice Act, they never had
equipment confiscated and formed a respectful relationship with local Police.
Branching out into club promotion, Positive organised and promoted hundreds of club nights in vary musical styles,
including House, Techno, Breakbeat, Drum & Bass, Jungle, Hip-Hop and Reggae.
They currently promote club nights at various Brighton nightclubs. Current Positive events can be found here: [1]
