Posi is and was a (primarily) youth-oriented movement. People participating in this movement use it as slang for the word "positive". It promotes a positive outlook on life and support for progressive thought. It is used predominantly by people from the hardcore scene and in the underground punk rock scene to describe proactiveness, well being, and positive drug-free atmosphere. Similar to, but not synonymous with, straight-edge. Many members of the movement, however, are not involved with either straight-edge or the vegan movements. These are the few that simply promote peace between everyone with an end to anger and violence.
