[edit] History
Though Posguerra officially begins in 1991 the history of the band starts in 1987. The friends Jhony Rivera, Juan Andrés Cárdenas (guitar) and Wilfer Estrada, still going through their high-school studies, decide to form a band called Psiquiatría ("Psychiatry"). This band ends in 1989 when Wilfer has to leave to military service.
In 1990 Jhony and Juan Andrés begin to compose new songs preparing to continue doing music when Wilfer returns.
In 1991 Wilfer ends his military service and joins with his friends to continue doing music together, so they form Posguerra, with Wilfer in the vocals, Juan Andrés in the guitar and Jhony in the drums. The band would not have an official bassist until two years later, when then the bass was played by musicians invited by the band, including Yoany Mosquera, who would definitely enter the band in 1996 but at the guitar. The same year they record a demo with their own songs and some from other bands.
In 1992 the band releases a demo recorded live in a performance, called Posguerra: Muerte.
In 1993 the band records a demo titled Ecocidio, in this work the bass was recorded by Camilo Kraft, at that time bassist of Neus. Later, the same year, Andrés Nieto enters the band as the official bassist; he was a friend of the other members of the band, but at that time he was the guitarist of a band called Sicosis, that band ended that year, and his friends convinced him to start playing the bass and to enter Posguerra.
In 1995 the band records its first album, Homo Sapiens: Detractor por profesión, produced by Ensamble Miditrack and Jorge Ramírez, however the album wasn't released until 1998.
In 1998 the members decide to take a recess to make other projects on their own. Jhony, Yoani and Juan Andrés form another band called Likor Azul ("Blue Likuor") now defunct. But in 2000 the members finally decide to continue with Posguerra.
In 2004 they release Amazonas, their latest album. It was recorded in Siamesis Audio studio and produced by Jhony Rivera. This album has the band's characteristic lyrics about ecology and a more mature music.
In 2005 Juan Andrés Cardenas, one of the founders of the band, leaves. The band continues with Yoany Mosquera as the only guitarist.
