[edit] List of Wheaties athletes

What a great idea for an article! Would you mind if I changed the name to List of athletes on Wheaties boxes? And welcome to Wikipedia! RickK 19:24, Aug 10, 2004 (UTC)

Go for it, I was working on Wheaties and discovered that there was a little bit of lacking in that area, so I've been getting it together from General Mills and Wheaties fan sites a little bit at a time. poroubalous 19:27, 10 Aug 2004 (UTC)

This is fun! I wrote a quick Perl script to format the D-Z entries and added a nice compact TOC. I assumed that the (S) meant soccer, but I could be wrong :-\ --Diberri | Talk 05:01, Aug 11, 2004 (UTC)
I changed the "soccer" entries to "special olympics", although there are some obvious errors with that too (e.g. Brett Favre, Marshall Faulk, et al). I've got to get to bed now, but I might tackle some of this tomorrow. --Diberri | Talk 05:16, Aug 11, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] re:wheaties athletes

hey, noticed you were doing a lot of baseball related articles and i have come across a trove of unwritten articles while working on List of athletes on Wheaties boxes. if you ever get bored/time/desire, browse through the list and pick some of them to write about (i've got a lot of them organized with sport played and date depicted). it'd make the list a little more useful to have a few more "champions" with information.

and keep up the nice work on the baseball stuff, looks good poroubalous 05:15, 11 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. Here's another partial list, there are some on here not in the article: http://www.wheaties.com/champions/championslist.asp Also, you might want to do some fact checking on the list you already have (such as John Elway on a 1936 box)- Mattingly23 12:39, 11 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Bill Rogers on Wheaties Box

On your list of athletes on Wheaties boxes, you list Bill Rodgers. (I found it because I set up a William Rogers (disambiguation) page and in fixing links found your page links to a British politician named Bill Rodgers). I presume your refering to the golfer Bill Rogers, but didn't change it in case there's another athlete Bill Rogers. I've been fixing links to the golfer to Bill Rogers (golfer). If this is not the golfer, please let me know. Ave! PedanticallySpeaking 17:25, Aug 26, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] History of the Southern states

I'm half-asleep as I write this...you wrote that second article from scratch? Very good job if you did. Personally, I'd merge all the information into the U.S. South history article, and redirect it to there. If you could, history from the recent South would be great. Mike H 10:13, Mar 26, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:U.S. Southern wikipedians' notice board

I have now reopened the notice board, if you are interested in contributing new topics, or in nominating articles for the Collaboration of the Week, which also received a revamp. Please post on the project's talk page if you show interest. Mike H 02:48, Jun 19, 2005 (UTC)
