Talk:Porsche Cayenne

How is the BMW X5 a near competitor to this vehicle? A Range Rover is much closer. akaDruid 10:44, 3 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I think the BMW is the closest competitor right now. The Land/Range Rovers are much more off-road biased, as are the existing Mercedes SUVs, while the Audi, Volvo, and others are not nearly as sporty. The Infiniti FX is another close competitor.
The first direct channenger to the Cayenne will be the Range Rover Sport. Even though it's based on a seperate frame borrowed from the new Discovery/LR3 it's supposed to be extremely road-biased, and Land Rover has been testing it on the N-ring for some time and it looks very respectable. I'll note in the article... -- stewacide 21:12, Jan 26, 2005 (UTC)
I'd guess the nearest competitor to be the VW Touareg - with the same sporty, luxury, on-road SUV target market, the same engines and many identical components... -- Marcika 18:29, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Similar

The info box of "similar" SUVs is pretty pointless. How do you define something as "similiar"? , performance? price? what? Lexus GS and the Lincoln is nowhere near the performance of the Cayenne, can't go offroad and big difference in price. I suggest remove it. 24.57.131.18 21:20, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bratislava

The body is produced by Volkswagen in Bratislava, but the final assembly takes place in the Porsche factory in Leipzig. Hektor 18:29, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

I didn't notice that you made a comment here, when I made my edit to the article ([1]). But I think it's good now.--BSI 22:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
