Portoscuso is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 60 km west of Cagliari and about 14 km northwest of Carbonia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,361 and an area of 39.1 km2.[1]

The municipality of Portoscuso contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Paringianu and Brunc' 'e Teula.

Portoscuso borders the following municipalities: Carbonia, Gonnesa, San Giovanni Suergiu.
