Porto Valtravaglia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 70 km northwest of Milan and about 20 km northwest of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,464 and an area of 16.0 km2.[1]

The municipality of Porto Valtravaglia contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Ligurno, Muceno, Musadino, San Michele, C.na Profarè, C.na Bassa, Monte Pian Nave, Monte della Colonna, Monte Ganna, Domo, Torre, and Casa Piano Croce.

Porto Valtravaglia borders the following municipalities: Brezzo di Bedero, Brissago-Valtravaglia, Casalzuigno, Castelveccana, Duno, Ghiffa, Oggebbio.
