Porto Pride is the name of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community Pride Party held in Oporto in July of each year. The first LGBT Pride Party in Oporto, was in July 2001 with around 1000 people participating. The Party is an event supported by commercial entities it has both a community side (with dozens of associations and groups promoting their activities in the event area) and a charity twist: a significant part of the revenue is donated to a local institution, in 2007 the donation was almost 4'500 euros.
Since 2006 an LGBT Pride Parade is also held in the city, it had around 500 persons in the first edition.
In 2007 both events will happen on the 7th July.
